Curator Jeffrey Forgeng pulled open a drawer at the Higgins Armory Museum in Worcester in December 2013.

First, the Worcester Art Museum acquired the Higgins Armory Museum’s prized collection. Tuesday, the museum said it has hired Jeffrey Forgeng, the longtime curator of the now-closed Higgins, to become its first curator of arms and armor and medieval art. Forgeng
