Big rise in online purchases made with smaller devices

It’s the year of big spending on small gadgets. From Thanksgiving eve to Cyber Monday and throughout this week, more shoppers than ever have been snatching up bargains with their smartphones and tablets. Mobile buying has more than doubled compared with 2010, giving online retailers another boost in a year in which holiday Web sales have already hit $15 billion, according to comScore, which measures Internet traffic. Mobile shopping growth follows the steep rise in smartphone and tablet adoption.
