Yahoo’s new CEO salutes Stonehill days

Harvard can claim Facebook and Microsoft. Massachusetts Institute of Technology has ties to the co-founder of Intel Corp. Now an alumnus from Stonehill College, a private Catholic college in Easton, will lead one of the biggest Internet companies in the world. Yahoo Inc. named Scott Thompson, an accounting major from Stonehill, its chief executive on Wednesday, raising the profile of a little-known school overshadowed by its Ivy League neighbors that have seen the of the tech world glitterati pass through their halls.
