Dendreon’s prostate cancer drug sales soar

Revenue from Dendreon Corp.’s prostate cancer drug Provenge more than tripled in the fourth quarter from a year earlier. The Seattle biotech said gross revenue was about $82 million. It cited a faster reimbursement time for doctors for the increase. Provenge was approved in April 2010 as the first therapy in the country that trains the body’s immune system to attack cancer cells as if they were a virus.
