Weight Watchers gains from partnerships
Weight Watchers entered two big partnerships, boosting the New York-based company’s shares to the highest level in almost a year.

American Express and the NYSE Euronext resolved to help employees improve their health in the new year, entering partnerships with Weight Watchers International. American Express will pay 100 percent of the cost to its employees for up to one year for meetings, while NYSE will cover half of the costs. Partnering with companies saves overhead costs for meetings and encourages clients to “stick around longer,’’ one analyst said.
