WebMD, an online provider of medical information, plunged after it ended discussions on a possible sale and said net income will be significantly lower in 2012 as drug makers cut back on marketing. WebMD also said CEO Wayne Gattinella resigned but provided no additional information. “The uncertainty at WebMD has become chaos in our view,’’ a Stifel Nicolaus & Co. analyst wrote.
