Bedford firm rebuilds after security breach
RSA’s goal: fix its product, reputation
RSA Security, a division of Hopkinton’s EMC Corp., suffered a sophisticated cyberattack last March that led to attempted strikes on some of its customers, including defense contractor Lockheed Martin Corp. The assault on RSA’s system of SecurID devices was a blow to its reputation as a computer security leader, and gave competitors a chance to make gains. Ten months after the attack, RSA said it has revamped its manufacturing and distribution process at a cost of $63 million to parent company EMC.
