David Kenny is the new Weather Channel CEO

David Kenny, an executive known locally for his previous roles in Boston-area firms Digitas Inc. and Akamai Technologies Inc., is the new chairman and chief executive of the Weather Channel Cos., the Atlanta-based company said today. The company is made up of such entities as the Weather Channel television network, Weather Channel digital properties, and the Weather Channel Radio Network. The Weather Channel Cos. is owned by a consortium that includes Bain Capital, a Boston-based private equity firm.
