National Grid gas customers could see lower monthly bills in Massachusetts
National Grid said today that it is seeking to adjust rates for its natural gas customers in Massachusetts, a move that could mean a drop of $12, or about 6 percent, in the monthly bills of a typical residential customer who heats with gas. If approved, the lower price would go into effect Feb. 1. The utility said it has about 820,000 natural gas customers in Massachusetts. The proposed decrease was prompted by lower commodity prices.
