R. Bradford Malt is best known as chairman of Boston’s biggest law firm, Ropes & Gray. But last week, he burst into the national spotlight as the trustee responsible for Mitt Romney’s vast fortune and controversial decisions to invest some of it in a Swiss bank account and tax havens like the Cayman Islands and Luxembourg. Since then, Malt has spent marathon days explaining the intricacies of Romney’s holdings to more than 200 reporters across the country.
