McDonald’s apt to post strong sales gains

McDonald’s Corp. served up the biggest gain in the Dow Jones average, 1.4 percent. The world’s largest restaurant chain may report that sales worldwide at stores open at least 13 months gained 5.8 percent in January, according to the average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Bloomberg News. The Oak Brook, Ill., company reports sales figures today. Same-store sales rose 9.6 percent in December.
