Medfield new construction lets in the light

A gas fireplace heats and lights the living room of this newly built Cape-style home, which is located a brisk walk from the town’s center, Metacomet Park, and the campus of the middle school and high school.

With tall ceilings, large windows, and a paint scheme of Navajo white walls and shiny white crown molding, the entire first floor is awash with light. The open floor plan unites the living room and the kitchen eating area. The kitchen has light-toned granite counters, stainless-steel appliances, cherry cabinets, and a window above the sink that looks over the backyard.

There is a half-bathroom with beadboard walls off the kitchen. A small paving stone patio is outside the sliding glass doors. Adjacent is a formal dining room with wainscoting.

Three bedrooms on the second floor are good size, have adequate closets, and great light from the windows. The family bathroom has a granite-topped double sink as well as a soaking tub.

Rare for a Cape-style house is the spacious master suite, which is built over the two-car garage and has its own door at the end of the second-floor hall. The suite has a bath with double sink, also with a granite countertop, and a soaking bath faced with tan tiles. The bedroom itself has six long rectangular windows and two walk-in closets.
