Gas prices up for ninth straight week

Massachusetts gas prices are continuing to rise, up 4 cents this week.

AAA Southern New England reported that self-serve, regular gasoline is averaging $3.60 per gallon. That is 18 cents higher than a month ago, and the ninth consecutive weekly increase.

It’s also 4 cents above this week’s national average of $3.56 per gallon. Last year at this time, the Massachusetts average price was $3.13 per gallon.

This week AAA found self-serve, regular as low as $3.47 and as high as $3.79 per gallon.
