Jeffrey Carney is leaving Putnam Investments

Jeffrey R. Carney is leaving Putnam Investments, where he has been senior managing director in charge of marketing and products, to run Charles Schwab Corp.’s retail branch business, the companies confirmed. Boston-based Putnam, a mutual fund manager, announced that it promoted Scott C. Sipple to head of Investment Product Management and Development. Carney’s exact role will not be refilled, Putnam said.
