Miles C. Barr wins Lemelson-MIT prize for student innovation

Miles C. Barr has been awarded the $30,000 Lemelson-MIT Student Prize for devising a process that advances solar technology. Barr has devised a way to fabricate solar cells onto a variety of surfaces such as textiles and car windows. His method has the potential to lead to the widespread adoption of solar power. Enabling solar cells to be printed directly onto common materials like paper could reduce the cost of solar energy by eliminating the need for specialized installation.
