Have traffic issues been addressed for both the construction phase and after the complex is fully occupied? As everyone knows, the traffic is already gridlocked in that entire area (and Wellington Circle) most every day - in particular during rush hours mornings and evenings? Being one of the "largest residential and retail real estate projects in the Boston area" - it will most certainly increase traffic and traffic woes by a large margin. Thanks.
Who will pay for the T Station construction, or will this project be added to the MBTA's Billions of debt.
What happened to the IKEA project? Is that still on, or has it been scrapped?
The MBTA is not paying for the new MBTA station so it will not increase their debt. It's being paid for by the developer, the City (Somerville) and some Federal and State grants. IKEA was granted a 1-year extension on their permits last July (2011). Anyone know more? The concern for traffic is why the MBTA station was added. Bike lanes and paths have also been/will be added. The IKEA is what will really cause increase in traffic, not the apartments.
