Merrimack shares fall on 1st day

Shares of Merrimack Pharmaceuticals Inc. dropped 14 percent to $6.04 on Thursday, the first day of trading. The Cambridge biotechnology company sold 14.3 million shares at $7 each. The company’s stock opened at $7 a share on the Nasdaq exchange.
