Former Intel worker pleads guilty to theft

A former Boston area employee of Intel Corp. was convicted Friday in federal district court for stealing $400 million worth of trade secrets from the computer chip maker. Biswamohan Pani, 36, of Chelmsford, pleaded guilty to five counts of wire fraud, and could face up to 20 years in prison on each count and a $250,000 fine, according to the US Attorney’s office for Massachusetts. Pani worked as an engineer at Intel’s Hudson manufacturing and research facility.
