Progress Software unveils strategic plan that includes layoffs of 10 to 15% of workforce

Progress Software Corp., a Bedford-base maker of business software, unveiled a restructuring that includes layoffs as the company looks to evolve to a shift toward cloud computing. Progress is looking to become a leaner company by divesting non-core product lines and by workforce reductions. Plans call for the company’s global workforce to be reduced by 10 percent to 15 percent. A stock repurchase program is also part of the new strategic plan.
