Massachusetts is hoping to leverage two new initiatives based at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to create a global cluster of companies and research groups focused on the emerging field of “big data’’ — the ability to quickly dissect and understand the flood of digitized information. The state and MIT will be unveiling their interlocking big data initiatives Wednesday at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at MIT.
