Shares of TJX Cos., the Framingham company that operates retail chains T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods, said its same-store sales rose 8 percent in May when compared to sales in the same month a year earlier. Same-store sales are sales at stores open at least a year, and retail analysts consider them to be an important measure of a

retailer’s performance.
