Carey Watermark Investors buys Hampton Inn Boston/Braintree

Carey Watermark Investors Inc. said Monday that it has completed the acquisition of the Hampton Inn Boston/Braintree, a 103-room hotel in Braintree.

Carey Watermark Investors, or CWI, said its investment in the property will be about $15.5 million inclusive of a $1.9 million renovation that will be completed in early 2013. The hotel will be managed by StepStone Hospitality.

Among the hotel’s appealing features is its proximity to many corporate headquarters, including those of Stop & Shop, Reebok, Dunkin’ Donuts, Haemonetics, and One Beacon Insurance, CWI said.

With offices in New York City, CWI is a publicly registered non-traded real estate investment trust that was formed to make investments primarily in the lodging and lodging-related sectors.
