Bullhorn Inc., a Boston company specializing in recruiting software, said Thursday that it has been acquired by Vista Equity Partners, a private equity firm with more than $6.6 billion in committed capital.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Bullhorn, which was founded in 1999, has more than 200 employees, and it raised $26 million in venture funding from Highland Capital Partners and General Catalyst Partners, a Bullhorn spokeswoman said.

Vista Equity Partners has offices in San Francisco, Chicago, and Austin, Texas.
