Delta led the 10-company Bloomberg US Airlines Index to its biggest gain in a week. Prices for jet fuel fell 19 percent this quarter through Monday.

Delta Air Lines Inc. rose the most in five months and led gains among US carriers after JPMorgan Chase & Co., UBS, Dahlman Rose & Co., and Evercore Partners projected that lower fuel prices would bolster airline profits this year. Delta predicts its fuel prices will drop from an average of $3.37 a gallon this quarter to $2.84 in the year’s last three months.
