Research in Motion’s chief executive, Thorsten Heins, asked investors for patience as the BlackBerry maker develops devices to challenge iPhones and Android smartphones. He said the Ontario company is reorganizing and working ‘‘around the clock’’ to offer the BlackBerry 10 early in 2013 — a year after it was expected. A loss is expected in the current quarter.
