Mass. General named best hospital in US

Brigham places 9th in magazine’s ranking

Massachusetts General Hospital earned the top spot in US News and World Report’s annual “Best Hospitals” rankings for the first time in the survey’s 23-year history, the media group announced.

The Boston hospital switched places with Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, which had held the top slot on the “honor roll” for the past 22 years. Last year, Mass. General was number two.

Oh god, MGH docs were nearly unbearable before, and now this. They're gonna need some bigger hats!

Don't worry Johns Hopkins the MA legislature aided by the Globe will take care of this. You will be back on top soon.

No one at the globe could be bothered to waddle down to MGH and get a new pic? Its an 10 year old photo - and the yawkey and lunder buildings have transformed the campus...

These types of honor rolls are misleading. Much more appropriate, given the scathingly high prices we pay for healthcare services in Massachusetts, would be some type of quality/price ratio. Congratulations, MGH - but success at what price?

MGH heart surgeons refused to give me Heart Pump surgery and was saved by nearby Hospital who gave me chance to survive. Yes MGH surgen was more concerned about mortality rate. Rejected
