The Jordan’s Furniture chain said its stores will be accepting like-new and new children’s clothes and shoes for the Cradles to Crayons “Ready For School” program.
The Jordan’s drive to collect clothing and shoes for infants and children up to age 12 is scheduled to run through Sept. 9.
With offices in Boston and Philadelphia, Cradles to Crayons provides for children from birth through 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive at home, school, and play. Items are distributed to the children through social service agencies such as MSPCC, Horizons For Homeless Children, and Head Start Programs.
Jordan’s said that donations will be accepted at all of its store locations, which are in Avon, Reading, Natick, Nashua, and Warwick as well as at its distribution center in Taunton.
This is the inaugural year for the partnership between Jordan’s and Cradles to Crayons.
In a statement, Jordan’s president and chief executive Eliot Tatelman said: “It is so important for every child to feel important and worthy. By working with the team at Cradles to Crayons, we hope to do our part in helping area children get ready for school and be prepared to learn.”
