EnerNOC Inc. said that Genesis Energy, a national electricity retailer serving the Wellington, Wairarapa, Kapiti Coast, and Manawatu areas in New Zealand, has signed a 20 megawatt DemandSMART contract to address transmission constraints, Reuters reported. At the same time it will diversify Genesis Energy’s offerings to its commercial and industrial customer base. Under the terms of the contract, the program began in July and can be extended to 50 megawatts in two years.
