Investor Bill Ackman urged General Growth Properties to consider a sale, saying the mall owner’s largest rival and biggest shareholder have shown interest in a takeover. Ackman’s Pershing Square Capital Management, GGP’s number two shareholder, has discussed a takeover with Simon Property Group. Brookfield Asset Management, GGP’s largest investor, didn’t support the deal.
