Pyramid Hotel Group, a privately owned hotel and resort company based in Boston, announced that it was named the new management company for the 802-room Sheraton Gateway Los Angeles Hotel.

As part of the transition, Michael Washington will continue in his role as general manager of the hotel, the company said in a press release.

The Sheraton Gateway is located at the entrance to Los Angeles International Airport and about 15 miles from downtown Los Angeles.

The hotel’s location makes “it uniquely positioned to appeal to both business and leisure travelers,” Jim Dina, chief operating officer and principal of Pyramid Hotel Group, said in a statement.

Pyramid Hotel Group manages and asset-manages more than 70 hotels and resorts across the United States. Among the properties the company manages in the Greater Boston market are the Boston Harbor Hotel and the Boston Marriott Burlington in Burlington.
