WASHINGTON (AP) — US employers added 96,000 jobs last month, a weak figure that could slow the momentum President Barack Obama hoped to gain from his speech Thursday night to the Democratic National Convention.
The unemployment rate fell to 8.1 percent from 8.3 percent in July. But that was only because more people gave up looking for jobs. People who are out of work are counted as unemployed only if they’re looking for a job.

A drop in the bucket is still better than a drop out of the bucket. Regardless of the outcome in November, we are facing a long, slow, painful process of economic recovery.
Lets face it, the large corporations control pretty much what the new jobs will be. All they have to do is tell all their fellow republicans to stop hiring until Obama is defeated. Do they think that the voters are that stupid?
I wouldn't vote for a republican for any office even if I was hanging upside down on a cross. Does that tell you rebublicans just how much I and my total family hate you! I was a republican many years ago but I changed to independent as things grew worse in the rep.party. We are all staunch DEMOCRATS now and forever.
So you want from using your hands to work to just sticking it out for handouts now. I'm sure your ancestors are proud of all the work they did to make you who you are is now squandered. Way to go!

And all Obama spoke of last night was a fuzzy "vision." No clear budget or plan to turn this around
These companies are not going to hire until they see someone other than the current boob out of the White House! They like half the country are sick and tired of these minister like speeches of riddles and empty promises. Obama has had 4 years and he has failed, we need a change and we need it now.
