Bayer AG’s Marijn Dekkers to address BC’s Chief Executives’ Club of Boston

Marijn Dekkers, chairman and chief executive of the German global giant Bayer AG,will be the keynote speaker at Boston College’s Chief Executives’ Club of Boston lunch on Sept. 19, the club said.

From 2002 to 2010, Dekkers served as chief executive of Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., a large laboratory science supplier headquartered in Waltham.

Dekkers is set to deliver a talk titled, “Innovation: Who needs it?” It’s expected to address the role innovation plays in building successful organizations and the internal structures required to fuel innovative practices, the club said.

Focusing on health care, nutrition, and high-tech materials, Bayer AG employs nearly 112,000 people around the globe, including 15,800 in the United States. It has annual sales in excess of $47 billion.
