Algeta ASA, a Norwegian company specializing in cancer therapeutics, said it has scheduled the official opening of its Algeta US office in Cambridge for Tuesday afternoon.
The office will initially have a head-count of 12 employees with plans to grow.
According to a media advisory, Lieutenant Governor Timothy Murray plans to join Susan Windham-Bannister, chief executive of the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, and Peter Abair, director of economic development and global affairs for MassBio, for the official ribbon cutting ceremony. The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center said it was instrumental in persuading Algeta to open its US office in the Bay State.
In a statement, Algeta US president Jeff Albers said, “Algeta Group’s expansion to the US is an important step toward realizing our vision for building a global oncology company commercializing innovation.”
