Seriously: Who do you think big business wants to win the Massachusetts US Senate race, Scott Brown or Elizabeth Warren?
I pose this seemingly lame-brain question because the Senate campaign has recently managed to produce an especially warped image of Warren as a greedy corporate tool.

Not only is Elizabeth Warren not ethically challenged as her opponent is but is actually a friend of business. By creating an environment of a positive sum game where employer and employee both gain in proportion leads to a healthier climate for commerce since you will better know what you are buying. Employers who understand the worth of their employees and employees who understand that their bosses understand this become the most productive workers in the world. It also goes without saying that whatever business you are in it should add to the wealth of the nation not grab as many bucks as you can from producing nothing of value. Elizabeth Warren is an expert in forming such laws to keep companies and employees on the straight and narrow so hard earned dollars do not evaporate. Her record looks mixed to Scott Brown because she took a balanced approach that preserved a Corporation's ability to do business while making sure workers were properly compensated if a business did fail and went bankrupt. It is a refreshing change to have someone who does not take a one sided view but understands the role of both parties in an argument and works to maintain a prosperous nation. Sen Brown is one sided and always stands with the executives of wayward companies. Unless you sit in one of these companies he does not warrant your vote. It should be cast for Elizabeth Warren. She is someone who has sided with those in business who value their contribution to the wealth of this country and who pay their workers accordingly.
Why have we not seen more information in the media on Warren's PRACTICE OF LAW WITHOUT A LICENCE?
Yes, even some of her defenders have stopped defending her on that one as more information comes out. The Boston Globe's best defense is to ignore it, so that's what they are doing. http://legalinsurrection.com/2012/09/elizabeth-warren-2002-working-on-at-least-10-private-legal-matters/
She has a Federal license to practice in Federal courts. That's all she needs.
The Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers says she doesn't need a state license. You can't get any more definitive than that. If it was an issue, Scott Brown would have been screaming about it in the debates. Not a word.
You read too many fairy tales on blogs.
nice column about the Republican Noise Machine and, of course, one of its tools, arstalt12, posting here at 8:14, makes the point nicely: Warren, we are yelled at constantly, is an affirmative action baby, a faux Native American, a phoney, a fake, a liar, a hired gun, a lawyer practicing without a license and, perhaps most damaging, a Harvard Professor.
as if all the yelling, all the noise, all the snearing by Brown and all the Rove robocalls are a substitute for a serious campaign.
well, they are not. Warren is a decent, hardworking, thoughtful and articulate woman and it is about time the Senatorial mens club has some greater participation from women.
and all the overheated rhetoric, the half-baked smears and the typical Republican dirty tricks wont work, again. Brown became a Senator because Coakley was a deeply flawed candidate who really needed her holiday break from campaigning. Brown can return to his domestic chores of folding laundry and driving his pickup around. and the jackals can take a break, soon, from baying at the moon.
not ONE article on her law license. Steve, also funny no story on the awful economic numbers yesterday.
Yes, it's amazing they don't feel obligated to do at least a little puff piece on that.
Steve,
Nice puff piece!
Another Warren journalistic hack weighing in. Go clip coupons Steve.
Her mother always told her she was a lawyer, she wore glasses like all the lawyers do. Who are you to attack her family and say she shouldn't be practicing law in Massachusetts without being a member of the bar association?
A falsehood!
I don't believe for a minute that Warren is a friend of business but she certainly is a fraud and a liar. The fact that she represented LTV or Travelers is not the issue but rather the fact that she has put herself out there as an advocate for the middle class and disadvantaged amongst us, is the issue. She has repeatedly stated that she has spent her entire adult life advocating for 'main street' which is clearly a lie. What should be the issue before the voters, is her integrity and quite frankly, she lacks it. Now we have reason to believe that she has practiced law with being licenced to do so in Massachusetts or any other state. Where is the outrage from the media? Where are all those investigative reporters? We should bring in the NFL replacement officials to check out the facts on this one now that they are no longer working.
...and where are the droves of outraged government officials who are entrusted with protecting us from fraudulent activities..........? They would be swarming the nests of those who do not support their agenda. And where are the droves of outraged citizens, who pay for, and whose interests are most betrayed by, ignored fraud?? Their resistance has been suffocated by years of non-action by those entrusted to protect their best interests.
O, c'mon, Steve, Warren wasn't "removed"; she was kicked out of contention by NON-partisan pressure due to the disadvantages her consumer protection plans would visit on consumers. As for Dodd-Frank, which we are all laboring under now, Brown tried to soften some of the provisions which would be injurious to the conduct of banking in general. In your zeal to taint Brown and lionize Warren, you have FORGOTTEN the legions of people in Mass. especially, who are EMPLOYED by financial institutions. Brown REMEMBERED them. But apparently, clinging to the falsehoods of the liberal mantra justifies jeopardising tens of thousands of your fellow citizens jobs.
"disadvantages her consumer protection plans would visit on consumers" - you need to take a course in Logic!
Why do right wing kooks have a thing for words in uppercase? Is it just one more fetish, among many? Is it like a flag -- "Hey look at the kooky capital letters. I'm a member of the kook squad."?
Steve, I think we can count on your not changing your mind.
Brown won election as Senator by coming across as a nice guy. His true character is now showing. No more Mr. Nice Guy in the expensive barn coat and the pick-up truck. Having nothing positive to say about his own political positions he now campaigns by attacking Warren. Heck of a job "Brownie".
It's not 'Nice' to refrain from telling voters the truth about a candidate for Senator.
So WSD, I guess you're not nice, although I don't think "refraining" is the right word.
"Hey Colonel! Have ya' seen any combat?"
You're just ignorant. The JAG Corps is not a combat unit and courts martial are not held in the field, defendants are returned to the U.S. for trial.
He recently excused his absence friom most of the Republican National Convention because of his duties as a "soldier". So he's a "soldier" when it's convenient for his campaign, but he's JAG when he just needs the uniform. There are different defintions of "soldier" but in my world, soldiers fight, JAGs argue in hearing rooms. Both are honorable, but it's troubling to hear Senator Brown describe himself as a "soldier". He's had plenty of opportunity to be a soldier during his time in the NG, but it would appear that he preferred to stay far away from the IEDs and ambushes, but is not reluctant to claim cred for being a "soldier". A lot of the real soldiers would like to come home, I suspect, but Governor Romney has other plans, which don't include his sons or Senator Brown, but do require a lot of soldiers.
Oh my goodness!!.....How disengenuous is this??
The point is NOT that Lizy is 'A friend to Big Business'......the point is that Lizy will be glad to represent yje interests of big business IF the legal fee is large enough!! Steven, you should be ashamed of yourself!!
It's sad that Scott Brown's minions have to resort to falsehoods. Elizabeth Warren is a respectable and smart leader. Get out the vote!
Senator "Sidelines" Brown is always right! Karl Rove and Mitch McConnel tell him he is right every minute of every day, and Senator Inhofe tells him that global warming is a fraud, and evolution is bogus. MA elected this guy once, but now we're going to elect McConnel and Inhofe as well? And do what Karl Rove wants us to do?
Don't take it from Scott Brown. Even the JUDGE was "disgusted" at Liz's work for Traveller's!! 'Nough said.
Only problem the victims of asbestos poisoning were not. Nough said.
And Ted Kennedy by the Steel company work, yes.

Liz Warren grew up in fake poverty as a fake Native American to practice law with a fake Liicense for corporarations as a fake defender of the little guy.
You have NO credibility.
Elizabeth Warren is business's best friend. She seeks to regulate the US financial sector to the extent that their misdeeds can no longer topple our economy; and that they be required to deal fairly, openly and with candor the interest of both business and consumers alike.
Uh no Annie, the new regulations still do not deal with derivatives, J.P. Morgan lost 6 billion on one trader's positon, Jon Corzine lost how much? And Fannie and Freddie continue making mortgages when they should have been put out of business this is well after 2008. Reload and shoot again.
Actually, rules have been written to regulate derivatives under Frank-Dodd, but the strictest rules are being held up by very strong opposition from the industry and pressure from Republicans (plus a few Democrats). It may be a while for the rules to be completed, but some rules are already in effect. You're wrong to say they're not.
The agency that Warren championed has this for staff. 7 out of 10 employees make over 100k.
The secretary for the Director makes 164k. This is why she can't be elected. More bureaucracy. So?

Obama may or may not win, but Elizabeth Warren has got it. Scott Brown is in his final three months.
The few doubts I had about the outcome were blown away by the sheer panic reflected in the posts here by Brownites. They know and they're filled with fear.
Calm down guys. She'll be your Senator too. And the sky won't fall. Just maybe it will be a serious improvement.
