Burlington software maker Aspen Technology Inc. will open a new office in Nashua on Tuesday, marking a long comeback for a company that several years ago struggled to overcome deep financial and legal woes. Its expansion makes room for a growing workforce, which is more than 1,300 worldwide and over 400 locally, and creates a research and development center for Aspen Technology, whose manufacturing software is used by some of the biggest names in the chemical and oil processing businesses such as Exxon Mobil Corp. and The Dow Chemical Co.
