Most recently, Frueh served as president of the Medco Research Institute. His resume also includes a stint as associate director for genomics at the US Food and Drug Administration, Third Rock noted in a press release.

In a statement, Third Rock Ventures partner Alexis Borisy said, “Since the founding of Third Rock, we have been dedicated to launching companies focused on personalized medicine, and Felix is the ideal person to help us continue to grow and develop those companies in our portfolio and discover new opportunities to invest in the space.”
