athenahealth seeks room to grow

E-health care company athenahealth Inc. said it is seeking to expand its real estate footprint in the Boston area to accommodate its growing business. The company, which has its headquarters in the Arsenal on the Charles office park in Watertown, provides on-demand billing, practice management, and electronic health record services to hospitals and doctors groups.

In a statement, Leslie Brunner, athenahealth’s senior vice president for people and process, said the company’s Watertown lease is expiring in 2015 and athenahealth is “exploring numerous real estate options for its Boston-based headquarters that will accommodate its growth.”

Company officials said they are talking to a number of commercial landowners in the Boston area about as much as 1 million square feet of expansion space.
