Boston security software firm Rapid7 Inc. has acquired Mobilisafe Inc., a two-year-old Seattle start-up that provides risk management services for mobile devices.

The deal gives Rapid7 a foothold in the marketplace of providing network security services to companies whose employees use their own smartphones, tablets, and laptops for work purposes as part of the growing bring-your-own-device, or BYOD, trend.
