E Ink looks to bolster its position in LCD technology with licensing deal

E Ink Holdings of Taiwan, parent company of E Ink Corp. of Cambridge, is bolstering its position in liquid crystal display (LCD) technology through a 10-year patent licensing agreement with AU Optronics Corp. of Taiwan.

E Ink makes the low-power black-and-white screens found on popular e-book readers like’s Kindle.
