Shares of the network equipment maker jumped after it reported third-quarter results that soundly beat analyst expectations. Riverbed reported a per-share profit of 28 cents, 3 cents better than expected and up 17 percent from the year-earlier quarter. Revenue rose 15 percent to $218.6 million. The company is moving into newer areas including cloud-based computing.
