Facebook pleased Wall Street on Tuesday when it reported third-quarter financial results that beat expectations. Even though the company reported a net loss of $59 million in the quarter, compared with net income of $227 million a year ago, the stock rose in after-hours trading by as much as 10 percent. Revenue grew 32 percent to $1.26 billion, slightly surpassing analysts’ forecasts.
