With Sandy closing US stock market for two consecutive days, a number of public companies delayed or cut short their scheduled release of quarterly earnings this week.
Brightcove Inc. pushed back its earnings release to Thursday, from Tuesday. Liberty Mutua cancelled its quarterly financial conference call initially scheduled for Tuesday, while Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc. of Cambridge rescheduled its quarterly update from Monday to Thursday.
Affiliated Managers Group Inc. of Beverly quarterly report will now come on Wednesday instead of Tuesday. Many companies outside of New England also pushed back earnings, including Office Depot Inc., and Entergy Corp., while others released their financial results, but cancelled or postponed the conference calls with investors and analysts that typically accompany such releases.
Other companies, however, pressed ahead with their original timetables. Haemonetics Inc. of Braintree released its quarterly earnings report and news of a stock split first thing in the morning. Cognex Corp. of Natick released its report at the end of the day but postponed a follow-up conference call. Avid Technology Inc. of Burlington, which had already warned investors about a disappointing quarter, delivered the bad news yesterday.
