Boston.com, the community news and entertainment website owned by The Boston Globe, has won three EPPY awards honoring the best media websites in the world, as selected by Editor and Publisher magazine.
For the second year in a row, Boston.com’s Arts and Entertainment (A&E) section was honored as the Best Entertainment Website with over 1 million unique monthly visitors. Boston.com also took top honors in the Best Crowd Sourcing/Citizen Journalism with 1 million unique monthly visitors category for its coverage of the 2012 Boston Marathon. The coverage featured user contributions such as “Why I Run,” and photos, tweets, and observations from spectators.
Boston Sports Live with Chris Gasper was recognized as the Best Webcast with 1 million unique monthly visitors and over. Boston Sports Live is a talk show that is streamed live on Boston.com at noon three times a week and hosted by Gasper, a Globe sports columnist.
