PARIS — Eurozone unemployment set another record in September, official data showed Wednesday, with 18.49 million people out of work in a weakening economy.
The jobless rate in the 17nation currency union ticked up to 11.6 percent from 11.5 percent in August as 146,000 more people were classified as unemployed, Eurostat, the statistical agency of the European Union, reported from Luxembourg. The August figure, itself already at a record level, was revised upward from the 11.4 percent previously reported.
