Trading is thin ahead of presidential vote

It was slight gains in thin trading on the day before the presidential election. ‘The markets have a tendency to trade sideways before big news events, and nothing is bigger than a presidential election,’ said Randy Frederick, at Charles Schwab. In Europe, a renewed focus on Greece’s problems and uncertainty about the US vote pushed stocks lower.
