AOL Inc. had a stronger third quarter: Ad revenue rose 7 percent to $340 million, revenue from third-party ad networks rose 18 percent, and search and contextual advertising rose 8 percent. But US display ad revenue fell 3 percent to $122.5 million, and overall revenue was flat at $531.7 million. Profit was $20.8 million, versus a loss of $2.6 million a year ago.
