11-year Globe editor Martin Baron to depart

Will take reins at Washington Post

Martin Baron , the editor of The Boston Globe who led the news organization as it won six Pulitzer Prizes over the past decade, will become executive editor of The Washington Post in January, both papers said Tuesday.

The Globe will launch a search to fill Baron’s job, said publisher Christopher M. Mayer. While citing the talent within the newsroom, he said he would also consider outside candidates. Mayer said his aim is to fill the position as quickly as possible.

Perhaps, now the Globe will hire an Editor who will have more journalistic integrity and provide more oversight to the Globe writers who insert their warped view points into every article.

Cantabrigian01, The Globe writers views are warped because they do not agree with you. That is why it is very important to have 2 newspapers.

You seem to be one of them..

I sent Mr "baron" an email asking him why he was not covering the OFF SHORING of thousands of Boston and North Quincy jobs by STATE STREET Corp, and was it because State Street corp was one of the Boston Globe's biggest advertizers, and its funny Mr Baron never wrote me back?  He also never covered the story, or his reporters never covered the story (which they had full knowledge of and do to this day) of the State Street Joint Venture with Syntel corp and the adverse effects it has had on the Financial serivces Industry within Massachusetts. If he has had any part in the HUIGE Journalistic "Transgression",, Then Happy Trails Mr. Baron, and maybe you should be aware that The Washington Post actually "does" cover huge stories that affect its readers lives, even if they may cast some negative publicity on a large contributer to their paper.
