Flowers Foods Inc.


Shares of the Thomasville, Ga., company jumped after Hostess Brands, maker of iconic treats like Twinkies, said it would liquidate its 82-year-old business. Analysts have said the liquidation will not only offer Flowers the chance to gain market share, but also potentially pick up some Hostess assets. Flowers Foods is the nation’s second-largest producer and marketer of packaged baked goods.
