More than 43 million Americans are projected to travel during the Thanksgiving holiday, according to AAA, but a comparatively smaller percentage of them will be from Boston --- that’s largely because locals enjoy being home for the holidays more than folks from other cities do.

So concludes a new survey commissioned by Inspirato, a Colorado-based vacation club that provides its members with access to a portfolio of luxury vacation homes. In conducting the survey for Inspirato about people’s holiday plans, Harris Interactive polled more than 2,500 adults in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco. and Washington, D.C. The poll was taken in early October.
