Fenway Triangle complex will offer offices, retail, housing

Developer Steve Samuels is ready with his next act in the Fenway: an office, residential, and retail complex that will bring the first Target store to Boston’s inner core.

Site work has begun on the $325 million Fenway Triangle development at 1325 Boylston St., with Samuels preparing to demolish the former Goodyear garage and two other small buildings. Construction on the complex itself is scheduled for next year.

I miss the old, undeveloped Fenway area.  I enjoyed the convenience of the Goodyear Tire Shop and the cheap parking lots and the funky bars.  Development is a good and healthy thing for the city, but does every square inch have to be develped?  Where do those who can't afford or don't fit into those gleaming high rises go?  When I arrived in Boston over 40 years ago I fell in love with this city, but now I feel that there is no place for me here.  I'm not in love with Boston anymore.
